New Students: Questions about Enrollment

    4. International Students require a special admissions process. Please visit the International Student Center website for more details.
       
  3. Enrollment (signing up for classes with an appointment)

    2. In Person located in the One-Stop Center within the Administration Bldg. (Availability may be limited on selected dates)
       
  4. Students interested in taking classes with a prerequisite will need to take an assessment test or submit transcripts verifying the completion of the prerequisite course if the course was taken at another institution.
     
  5. Students wishing to use transcripts for prerequisite clearance need to complete the Prerequisite Clearance Form and submit to Counseling. Students wishing to use prior learning should complete the same form and turn it into Counseling. The form is then submitted to the division for approval or denial. Results are posted on the unofficial transcript through MyCerritos. This process takes approximately ten days.
     
  6. Where can I go if I don't have a computer? Students can go to the Academic Support Center (ASC) in the basement of the LRC, the lobby of Admissions and Records, and Cerritos public library.
     
  7. Where can I go to get my student ID card? Students need to go to the Student Center (Game room during open hours)
     
  8. Where can I purchase books? Students can purchase books online or go to the bookstore.
     
  9. Counseling: The Counseling Office hours are Monday thru Thursday 8:00am to 7:00pm and Friday 8:00-4:00pm. Counseling appointments can be made through the Counseling Website http://cms.cerritos.edu/counseling/appointments.

    Walk-in counseling is also available Monday thru Thursday 9:00, 2:00pm & 5:00pm (sign up 10 minutes prior). Walk-in counseling is for students who have quick questions regarding the current semester. Questions involving transcripts, financial aid lock-in lists, educational planning for the following semester, etc. will be directed to schedule a counseling appointment.

  10. Financial Aid: Students, who want to apply for financial aid, complete the FAFSA application online, in person or at the Financial Aid office. For other questions or assistance regarding financial aid, please go to the Financial Aid office located in the One-Stop Administration Building, which is adjacent to the College Library.  To contact the Financial Aid Office, call  (562) 860-2451 Ext. 2399
     
  11. Verification of Enrollment: Students who want to have enrollment verified for health, auto insurance and other purposes may submit a request to Admissions and Records after the first week of the semester. The cost is $2 per verification of status for REGULAR request to be mailed out in 5 to 10 working days or $7 per verification of status for RUSH request for either pick up at the Admissions Office or mail out in 24 hours.
     
  12. Students with fee payment problems: Students with fee payment problems or problems with their Student Accounts should go to Admissions and Records for assistance.
     
  13. Transcripts: Students requesting transcripts have two options:

Official transcripts are available in person from Admissions and Records, online through Credentials, Inc., or by mail. The first two copies are free; subsequent copies are $3 each. Rush service transcripts (next business day) are issued at the cost of $10 per copy. 

Cerritos College has retained Credentials, Inc. to accept transcript orders on the Internet via a secured site. Please contact Credentials, Inc. Customer Service at (800)646-1858 if you need assistance with this service.

Unofficial transcripts are available from Admissions and Records in person, online or by mail. Students with a MyCerritos account may access unofficial transcripts online.
