Business Accounting and Finance - Careers

Career Opportunities:

According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, published by the U. S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics, the employment of accountants is expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations through the year 2005.

Accountants have a variety of career paths from which to choose. Those entering public accounting can work for Certified Public Accountant (CPA) firms ranging in size from large international companies to small local accounting practices. Accountants also work in private businesses varying in size from large corporations to "Mom and Pop" operations. Within the government, accountants work for federal, state, and local agencies. Accountants also work for non-profit organizations such as schools, hospitals, and charities.
