The ASC is now accepting applications for the open position of:
Tutor
Various subjects
Do you consider yourself a people-person? Are you patient and like to teach?
If you are, then you might want to be a tutor. Share your knowledge and experience with the students of Cerritos College!
The Academic Support Center continually accepts applications on an ongoing basis from prospective tutors for all Cerritos College courses.
We are continually looking for qualified tutors in the following subjects and willing to start immediately:
- Biology

Additional Information:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must have earned clearance on the Reading Placement test or have earned credit for Reading 54.
- Applicants must have an overall 2.75 GPA and an 3.0 GPA in the subjects to be tutored. If you are applying to tutor math, you must have received an "A" in all math classes taken.
- Applicants must be approved by a faculty member from the subject area you will be tutoring, as well as the coordinator of the Academic Support Center.
- If you are offered a tutoring position, please be aware that a TB test clearance is required for employment.
- Upon employment, tutors are required to successfully participate in a Tutor Training Series, mandated by Title V regulations.
- Before you submit your application please check that you have completed the following:
- Your application is completed.
- You have met with and been approved by a faculty member from the subject you wish to tutor.
- Attached an unofficial copy of your Cerritos College Transcripts or other institution.
Please return your completed application, along with a printed copy of your transcripts, to the ASC main desk in LC-166.
