Linda L. Lacy, Ed.D.
Linda Lacy, Vice Chancellor of Student Services and Operations, past Interim President of Riverside City College, has her B.S. from Oklahoma State University; M.S. from Central State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and Ed.D., in Higher Education Administration from Oklahoma State University. Dr. Lacy has dedicated 23 years to serving Riverside Community College in multiple capacities beginning in 1986 as an instructor and coach. She also served twelve years as an instructor and assistant principal in a K-12 system in Oklahoma.
Dr. Lacy has always worked closely and collegially with a diverse population, championing programs that create and promote opportunities. She has demonstrated leadership in all of the positions she has held at Riverside Community College District, bringing out the best in those around her—students, staff, faculty, and managers. She treats everyone with dignity and respect. She is considered a role model and has served as a mentor demonstrating a lifelong commitment to motivating and getting students excited about education. Dr. Lacy has maintained this “coaching mentality” throughout her career and, as such, she brings out the best in those she works with and encourages others to give their best as well.
Dr. Lacy’s current position as Vice Chancellor of Student Services and Operations includes supervision of district functions such as student financial services, DSPS, health services, food services, bookstore, college outreach, and college safety and police. Her administrative experience involves budget formulation and regulation, development of Board Policy, evaluation of managers, and development of the program review process for student services. Dr. Lacy’s past interim presidential duties included overseeing the general daily operation of Riverside City College; the development of the Educational and Facilities Master Plan; the Accreditation Self-study; the renovation of the Quad; and served as liaison with the Wood Streets Association.
Dr. Lacy was the past chair of the Riverside City Campus Strategic Planning Committee; past president of the Management Association; a graduate, chair, and past president of the Greater Riverside Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program (class of 1999); and past president (2006-07) of the California Community College Chief Student Services Administrators Association (CCCCSSAA). Dr. Lacy has been very active within the community serving on the Boards of the Greater Chamber of Commerce, Riverside Downtown Partnership, the Mayor’s Cultural Accountability Performance, the City Task Force, and Wells Fargo Inland Bank. She is currently a member of the District Strategic Planning Committee, International Relations Council and of the Higher Learning Federation Taskforce.
Dr. Lacy has acquired numerous achievements in her career to name just a few: “O” Varsity Letter Award from OSU (1971, 1972, 1973, & 1974); Award of Honor from City of Mustang, Oklahoma (1978, 1979, 1980 & 1982); Citation from Oklahoma House of Representatives 1982-83); Oklahoma Coach of the Year (1982, 1983, & 1984), Coach of 6 State Championships in Volleyball; Outstanding Women of America (1974 and 1983), Citation from Oklahoma House of Representatives (1982-83); Certificate of Excellence (1992) Riverside Community College; YWCA Women of the Year (2007); received the “President’s Award” in the Riverside Sports Hall of Fame (2008), citations from California Legislative Assembly, Governor Schwarzenegger’s Office and many other civic awards.
