10) Adrienne Fowler Memorial Grant

$250 to assist a senior dental hygiene student with the cost of the 2005 California State Board Exam.
To be eligible for the grant, the student must:

a) be enrolled in an accredited dental hygiene program in Los Angeles County (Cerritos, WLA, USC & Pasadena)

b) be a member of SADHA

c) have at least a 3.0 GPA

d) submit a 250 word essay entitled "What I expect from my local dental hygienists' society"

e) attend a South Bay Dental Hygienists' Society General (3rd Wednesday) or Board (4th Wednesday)
meeting before the deadline

f) submit two character references (one from a dental hygiene instructor) with a brief statement (50 words or less) why the candidate should be considered for this award

g) the grant is contingent on the applicant graduating and qualifying for the California Dental Hygiene Boards

11) Barbara Hartley Memorial Grant

The Los Angeles Dental Hygienists' Society is offering a $250 grant to assist a senior dental hygiene student with the cost of the 2005 California State Board Exam. To be eligible for the grant, the senior must:

a) be enrolled in an accredited dental hygiene program in Los Angeles Dental Hygienists' Society component area (Cerritos, WLA & USC)

b) be a member of SADHA

c) have at least a 3.0 GPA

d) submit a 250 word essay entitled "What I expect from my local dental hygienists' society"

e) attend a Los Angeles Dental Hygienists' General or Board meeting before the deadline

f) submit two character references (one from a dental hygiene instructor) with a brief statement (50 words or less) on why the candidate should be considered for this award

g) the grant is contingent on the applicant graduating and qualifying for the California Dental Hygiene State Boards

12) Pat Pinder Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the Health Occupations Division

and the Cerritos College Foundation in memory of Pat Pinder, long-

time faculty member in the Health Occupations Division. Pat also

served as Faculty Senate President, and Director of the the Student

Health and Wellness Center.

This scholarship is awarded to outstanding students majoring in a

Health Occupations Division program.

Criteria:

* Health Occupations major

* 2.5 GPA or better

* Completion of first semester courses or 12 units within the

major

Deadline to apply: November 28, 2007

Award: $300
