Cerritos College to Host Seminar for Machine Tool Technology
Workshop to Highlight Recent Developments in Technology

WHAT: Cerritos College will host a three-hour seminar on Model-Based Definitions (MBD), presented by Jim Edwards, Southern California account manager for Verisurf. Verisurf Software, Inc. is a privately held software development and manufacturing solutions company based in Anaheim, Calif. Products are offered by original equipment manufacturers and resellers worldwide.
The seminar is free and open to the general public. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about this new technology, which is poised to eliminate paper drawings in the design and production of automotive aftermarket parts, replacing them with solid models. Learning how these parts can be analyzed for conformance has become more important as MBD has come into widespread use.
The seminar will cover:
• Advantages of using Coordinate Measuring Machines for inspection
• Model-based embedded tolerances
• Productivity and cost benefits of MBD
• The importance of MBD for global cooperation
• An overview of technological solutions available, including laser rackers, portable CMM arms, scanners and photogrammetry

COST: The event is free to attendees. However, parking is $1 a day for those who do not hold a permit.
