Brenda White has invested over 30 years in the field of Cosmetology as an educator, successful salon owner and independent contractor. She has traveled extensively throughout the United States teaching and studying hair design on a variety of levels working with and consultant to some of the leading hair designers and hair products manufacturers. Brenda is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of Technology, Department of Cosmetology. She teaches all levels of cosmetology, specializing in chemical hair straightening, ethnic hair design, and hair augmentation.
Brenda’s entrepreneurial experience involved the successful launching of Touch of Class Coiffures in 1982 and she continues this venture as an independent contractor with a diversified client base in Orange, Riverside, San Diego and Los Angeles Counties.
Her professional affiliations include memberships in the National, the California and the Orange County Cosmetology Associations. She is past Hair Fashion Chairperson for California and Orange County.
An active community participant, Brenda contributes her time and resources to non-profit organizations including Working Wardrobes, The Coalition of 100 Black Women and the Los Angeles County Probation Department. The recipient of many awards and tributes, Brenda received the Remarkable Women Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Association of Women Business Owners-Orange County Chapter and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2001.
Brenda is a graduate of the Union Institute and University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She holds a lifetime Community College Teaching Credential from the University of California at Los Angeles, and is a licensed Cosmetology Instructor and Stylist in Texas, California, and South Carolina. Brenda believes working in Cosmetology requires proficiency in all phases of the field and education is the key to success.
