Welcome to CalWORKs

By now you are at the half-way point of the semester and we hope that it has been productive and successful. The CalWORKs staff and I would like to wish you the best as you wind down and prepare for your upcoming finals.

Through your perseverance you are demonstrating to your children and to yourself your dedication and commitment towards your education. The Cerritos CalWORKs program offers services and support to assist you during your educational journey.

We have just recently completed our Pre-Employment Preparation workshops and will be celebrating the students who completed the program. Pre-Employment Preparation or PEP as we refer to it as is designed to prepare eligible CalWORKs students for placement in subsidized employment on and off-campus. We will be offering additional PEP workshops to ensure that we are able to place our students in work sites. If you are interested in PEP, please contact your CalWORKs Counselor or call Regina Ybanez, Job Placement Technician II at 562-860-2451 Ext. 2368. The CalWORKs staff and I hope that each semester brings you closer to your desired goal and we look forward to seeing you once again in the Spring Term.
