From its inception, the Cerritos College Child Development Center was established as a laboratory school for students acquiring on education in Child Development. As a teacher training site, the Center provides opportunities for students to perform practicum hours at the Center. The practicum students read stories and prepare and present activities under the direct supervision of a Mentor Teacher and/or the Director. Using positive interactions with children, practicum students and staff encourage respect at all times.
The Center is also open to students from other local colleges to conduct observations.
