About Carmen Hill, President, CitiHousing Real Estate Services

Carmen has a MBA in Real Estate Finance from the Wharton School and a BA in Management from Howard University. She completed University of Southern California’s Ross Minority Program in Real Estate. She has extensive income property experience—in financing, investment, sales, development, appraisal, property management, and resident services—in the profit and non-profit sectors.

She analyzed income property for CitiBank’s Real Estate Industries Division and the Real Estate Investment Department of Prudential Insurance Company. She worked for Goldrich & Kest and Jamboree Housing, developers of low income apartments, and the housing services departments of Tri-City Mental Health Center, Portals Mental Health.

She has worked as a real estate broker, property manager, and consultant for over 20 years. Her clients have included individuals and families as well as financial institutions and community-based organizations: Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, the Veterans Administration (VA), the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health’s (DMH) Housing Policy Division, Irvine Housing Opportunities (IHO), Wings of Refuge in Los Angeles, the Guidance Center in Long Beach, and David and Margaret Home in LaVerne.

She provides foreclosure prevention counseling for homeowners, having received her training from NeighborWorks America (www.nw.org).

She teaches real estate classes at Cerritos College; Real Estate Investments in the fall and spring semesters and  homeownership workshops for the Community Education Department quarterly. She has conducted housing workshops at numerous conferences throughout California--most recently at the Housing California annual conference in Sacramento in April, 2008 (www.housingca.org) and in Los Angeles in December, 2008 and at the Department of Mental Health’s Housing Specialists Training Institute in June, 2008.
