Cerritos College Theatre to Perform “Bleacher Bums,” Ode to Chicago Cubs
WHAT: Cerritos College’s Department of Theatre and Associated Students will present “Bleacher Bums” March 4-13, 2005. The play, written by members of The Organic Theatre Company and conceived by Joe Mantegna, is an ensemble piece that follows a group of die-hard Cubs fans while they root for their star-crossed team at Chicago’s Wrigley Field.
“Although a baseball game is the setting for 'Bleacher Bums,' it is not a play that focuses on the players and coaches,” said faculty director Dr. Robin Huber. “This play focuses on the fans and is very optimistic. We see the triumph of our better natures: hope over despair, generosity over greed and caring over callousness.”
Attendance is open to the public and discounts are offered to Cerritos College students.
WHEN: March 4, 5, 10, 11, and 12 at 8 p.m.
