>>>The theater arts department is seeking immigrant experience story submissions to contribute to the creation of an upcoming spring '07 play tentatively titled,"Getting Here: A theatre project about immigrants in their own words." Stories will be shaped into performance pieces—actors portraying immigrants to the United States from around the world telling about "getting here" in their own words. Stories must be true and short, and can be in the form of narrative, monologue, poetry, song, or words that could be put to music or dance. Other artistic mediums are welcome: photos, art, flash animation, or anything that could be projected on a screen as subject matter, background, or counterpoint to what’s happening on stage. The play is non-political and holds no stance on the politics of immigration. For inquiries or to send material, please contact Robin Huber at email@example.com or ext.2649. For more information, please click here to visit the "Getting Here" website.
>>> The Cerritos College Child Development Center is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and invites the campus to participate in several events during the next few months:

An anniversary celebration on Friday, November 17 will invite Child Development Center alumni and families to share in a celebratory evening that will include a slide show, entertainment and dinner in the Cerritos College Student Center. Read more information about the dinner here.
On Wednesday, December 13, the center will host "pajama day." Children are invited to attend school in pajamas and enjoy a cozy day of hot chocolate and cinnamon toast.
Additionally, the center is offering Child Development Center t-shirts for sale in Cerritos College blue (adult sizes). These are offered to alumni families at a discounted rate of $6 per shirt. Organizers of the anniversary celebration are currently seeking photos, newspaper clippings and other memorabilia related to the history of the Cerritos College Child Development Center.
