Cerritos College and Community Celebrates Groundbreaking of Classroom/Lab/Office Building Complex 1
Cerritos College officials, Board of Trustees and community members attended a groundbreaking for the new $17 million Classroom/ Laboratory/Office Building Complex 1 on Wednesday, March 4. Dignitaries in attendance included Sue Arthur, president of Norwalk Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Joseph Cho, City of Cerritos councilman, Jesse Urquidi, immediate past president of Norwalk Chamber of Commerce, field representatives for Senator Alan Lowenthal, Assemblyman Charles Calderon and Assemblyman Tony Mendoza.
The 34,000 square foot, two-story building will be funded by the G.O. bond and will be home to five general classrooms for Architecture, Astronomy, Earth Science, Engineering, Engineering Design Technology, Mathematics and Physics, and seven large laboratories, faculty offices and division offices for Technology and Science, Engineering and Mathematics (SEM). Anticipated opening of the complex is fall 2010.
