Cerritos College Gets Animated for Homecoming
Thousands of alumni, families and friends gather at Homecoming — the campus's largest annual celebration of reunions on October 24.
Campus came alive with colorful floats, beautiful Court and the undefeated Falcons' 7-0 winning streak. The theme of this year’s celebration was “Animated Favorites”.
Not only did the student clubs put on quite a show with their animation-inspired floats, but the football team added an exclamation point to the night with a 58-17 win over Riverside City College.
There were a total of 20 floats Saturday night, and 13 of them got the honor of winning an award.
The seven ladies of the Homecoming Court were done-up and styled like award nominees walking the red carpet in Hollywood.
Evie Mendoza, sponsored by the Student Veteran's Club, was crowned the 2009 Homecoming Queen by Associated Students of Cerritos College (ASCC) President Oscar Franco during the football game halftime.
The 2009 Cerritos College Homecoming Court was made up of:
Tiffany Gaskin, sponsored by the Black Student Union
Monica Reyes, sponsored by the Court Reporting Club
June K. Romo, ran as an independent
Sana Khan, sponsored by the ASET Club
