Dental Hygiene students volunteer to feed kids around the world
The senior Dental Hygiene students, Class of 2012, volunteered their time on Saturday, September 24, to join the efforts of Kids Around the World, Inc. (KIDS).
KIDS is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children and families who have been affected by war, poverty, illness and natural disaster.
Saturday's goal was to pack 1 million nutritious meals for the people in Haiti. Haiti was hit by a devastating earthquake on January 12, 2010, killing 316,000 people and leaving millions injured, homeless, hungry and without hope.
The Cerritos College Dental Hygiene Program embraces community involvement. "I am so very proud of our students in recognizing this tremendous need and taking the time to make a difference", says Professor Adelle Krayer, director of the Cerritos College Dental Hygiene Program.
