Cinematography students rock the Student Center
It got loud on the evening of April 10 in the Cerritos College Student Center when the Motion Picture & Digital Cinematography students filmed a rock performance by two-person band Inferno under the direction of Cinematographer Luc Nicknair.
Students Chayanne Acosta, Rodrigo Arzate and Josh Dok were assigned as camera operators to shoot the performance with three HD cameras and three Go Pro cameras mounted on stage to capture tight close ups of the two performers.
Rodrigo Arzate commented on "how great Luc was.... and the incredible list of credits he has."
Josh Dok said, "It was an amazing experience to have someone like Luc Nicknair come and show us about camera placement and matching shots."
Chayanne Acosta agreed, "Luc shot music videos for Tupak and Snoop Dog and numerous movies. I was expecting him to be a prima donna. Not at all! He was absolutely excited about teaching and helping us."
"Students learn about the fundamentals of both film and digital cinematography in this class," said Assistant Professor Steven Hirohama who teaches the class.
The Motion Picture & Digital Cinematography (Film 104) is offered in the spring semester and summer sessions.
