History has been made when the Cerritos College Hall of Fame welcomed its inaugural class of inductees on April 12 at Sheraton Cerritos.
Cerritos College President/ Superintendent Dr. Linda Lacy welcomed over 300 people to the first ever event.
"We are thrilled at the response to this event as evidenced by the size of the crowd" said Dr. Lacy. "We are delighted to induct such a prestigious group of individuals."
The master of ceremonies was Steve Richardson, executive director of the Cerritos College Foundation and Community Advancement. He thanked sponsors - GST, Habib American Bank, Kaiser Permanente, The Chugh Firm, Tilden-Coil Constructors & Hill Partnership, Sheraton Cerritos Hotel, Southern California Gas Co. and Worldwide Produce - for their generous support. Students in the Cerritos College Music department provided the wonderful musical treats before and during the program.
As each of the seven honorees was inducted, an interview video footage was shown. A special trophy was presented to each honoree. Proclamations from the offices of Congresswoman Linda Sanchez, Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe and the City of Cerritos were presented to the inductees as well.
