Cerritos College faculty honored for distinguished service
Members of the Cerritos College faculty were honored for their service and mentorship to students during the Distinguished Faculty Awards ceremony on Thursday, April 19. Organized by the Faculty Senate and the Professional Relations committee, the event was attended by hundreds of faculty members, deans, vice presidents, President/Superintendent Dr. Linda Lacy, and members of the board of trustees.
Speech student Erik Duane announced this year's Most Outstanding Faculty of the Year: Angela Hoppe-Nagao, professor of speech.
Angela started her career as a full-time instructor in the Speech Department in 1995. In addition to teaching, Angela serves in a variety of roles on campus. She is chair of the Speech Department, Vice-President of the Faculty Senate, and a member of the Curriculum Committee and the Technology-Based Learning Committee. Angela loves working at Cerritos College for many reasons, including the sense of community on campus and the life-long friendships she has developed. Most of all, she is inspired by her students and loves sharing her enthusiasm for communication.
Years of Service Awards were presented by Dr. Marilyn Brock, interim vice president of academic affairs.
