Nancy Bonilla, Student Activities, Named Employee of the Month of April 2012
The Outstanding Classified Selection Award Committee has named Nancy Bonilla as recipient of the Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee of the Month Award for April 2012. Nancy began her full-time classified employment with the District on January 22, 2004 as a Student Affairs Technician.
This is Nancy's second Employee of the Month award. Nancy was instrumental in training the new Coordinator of Student Activities and works alongside her with the student clubs and organizations. In the absence of a director, Nancy has carried much of the weight of Student Government this year. She has worked many hours and gone above and beyond her job duties. Nancy is loved by all and is always available for the students and staff no matter what time it is. She worked tirelessly to ensure the student government elections ran smoothly.
Not only is Nancy a full-time employee, she is also a student in the marriage and family therapy program at Pepperdine University. She will be receiving her master's degree in May. She also spends many hours at a shelter for battered women counseling women and their children. Nancy is a true example of leadership and is committed to the students of Cerritos College.
"This award, Nancy, is for your commitment and dedication to Cerritos College. You are commended for the excellent service you provide in assisting students on a daily basis. No matter how busy you may be with your workload, you always put the students' needs first," said the Board member Tom Jackson as he presented the award with Nancy.
