Mathematics Club Presents Proceeds from Book Sale to Su Casa Shelter
At the May 16 Board of Trustees meeting, Max Guijaro, Vice-President of the Math Club and President-Elect for next year, presented Su Casa with a check for $400. The funds were raised through sales of donated books here on campus. Dean of Counseling Dr. Renee De Long Chomiak received the check on behalf of Su Casa. Dr. Chomiak served as executive director of Su Casa in Artesia prior to arriving at Cerritos College in 2006. Cerritos College Board Member Dr. Tina Cho also serves as a board member of Su Casa.
Su Casa is a nonprofit, community-based organization dedicated to the philosophy that every individual has the right to live free from violence or the threat of violence. All services are free of charge, without regard to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ability and/or socioeconomic status.
