- TEDx Talk At Cerritos College | Applications Due November 1
TEDx is coming to Cerritos College on March 9, 2017, 6:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.! TEDx is similar to the now famous TED Talks with some important exceptions. The event can only have 100 attendees and each speaker only has about 10 minutes to share their idea. Cerritos College is encouraging faculty, students, employees, and community members who are interested in speaking about an “idea worth sharing”... Link to the full story about TedX
- National Manufacturing Day Inspires Students
The Technology Division hosted an open house for National Manufacturing Day on October 7. Nearly 300 students and educators from local school districts, and professionals from various industries participated. The event showcased the advanced manufacturing, Automotive technology, engineering design technology, new product development, machine tool technology, plastics/composites, woodworking, and welding departments... - Transfer Conference Prepares Students For Life After Cerritos
Transfer Center hosted the fourth annual Transfer Conference on October 7. The student panel featured four transfer students who shared their experience in choosing a university, best practices, and what they would change in the process. Students also learned more about the transfer process, Transfer Admission Guarantees (TAG), and financing tips through breakout sessions. Link to the full story about Transfer Conference
- Halloween Office Contest is Back!
It’s that time again for our Halloween Office Decorating and Costume Contest! This year’s contest is scheduled for Monday, October 31. The categories are: 1) spookiest office, 2) most creative office, and 3) office with the most staff in costumes. This year, we will encourage more students to stop by and see your offices. The winners will enjoy an office lunch party, courtesy of Public Affairs. We will be visiting participating departments between 2-3:30 p.m. and are so excited for the festivities! - The Women Of Juarez Coming This Week!
To what lengths would you go to find your missing loved one if you lived in a world filled with systematic corruption, misogyny and lies? Based on the mass murders of women in the Mexican border town, The Women of Juarez is the story of a mother searching for her missing daughter. *Special for Oct 14 performance: One of the actual mothers of a missing girl in Juarez will be speaking after the play about her experiences in Juarez and her persecution by the local police...
