Cosmetology Department
Welcome to the Cerritos College Cosmetology Department.
When you register in the Cosmetology or Esthetician Program it entitles you to the best training available. These courses will prepare you for a career in Cosmetology or Esthetics.
In the Cosmetology program you will learn how to cut, color, perm, straighten and braid hair along with other applications and techniques. You will also learn manicuring, pedicuring and skin care.
In the Esthetician Program you will learn how to analyze skin, perform facials, massages, extractions, make-up and how to treat common skin problems.
Success as a student depends on your complete participation in the program. You will be required to practice procedures on fellow students before you qualify to work on the public.
If you are interested in enrolling in the Cosmetology or Esthetician Program you may complete an admission application in person at the Cerritos College Admissions and Records Office or online. Once you receive your Cerritos College Student Identification Number, you are encouraged to take the Reading and English Assessment Test. The Cosmetology Department desired placement is into Reading 54 and English 52.
