What should be included in your Petition Statement

On a separate piece of paper, please exactly state your circumstances.

The reasons:

  • You should be allowed to continue or be readmitted as a student at Cerritos College
  • Include the causes for substandard academic work or progress
  • The steps you have taken or will take to improve your grades or progress.  
  • Include or attach any documentation or supportive information that will assist the Committee in its deliberations.

    If you need an explanation or assistance in interpreting the above policy, please see a Counselor prior to submitting this document.


    If your petition is approved the committee may alter the unit limits of your Ed Plan and Contract at their discretion.
