New Student Orientations
Congratulations on choosing Cerritos College!
The Orientation includes general information, enrollment procedures and receiving input from a counselor to help plan your classes. The assessment tests in English, Reading, and Math, or the ESL test should be completed prior to your orientation.
Assessment and Orientation-Counseling (AOC) is required for first-time, new to any college, students prior to enrollment.
You may be eligible for our Early Success Program (ESP). Eligible students who complete all ESP requirements by the deadline of Tuesday, June 7th may receive an earlier appointment to enroll for their first term's classes. Find out more about "ESP"
New Students who are required to complete AOC will have two holds on their MyCerritos account: one for Assessment (ASM) and the other for Orientation-Counseling (ORI).
- To remove the 'ASM' hold, new students must complete all 3 assessments, (Math, English and Reading) or ESL testing.
- To remove the 'ORI' hold, new students must complete an in-person orientation or online orientation via 'MyCerritos'
Please be prepared:
Getting classes and some services is more difficult this year because state funding has been cut at all UC, CSU, and community college campuses.
Class offerings may be very limited. Please plan your class schedule carefully because demand may be high.
