What is a Prerequisite?

A prerequisite is a course that must be completed with a “C” grade or better prior to registration in a specific course.  A prerequisite is established by Departments to assure a student’s preparation and likely success in a course.  This can be met with successful completion of an equivalent college level course, assessment test scores, or a specific skill or a body of knowledge that you possess.  If a course has a prerequisite, it’s listed in the Schedule of Classes and the College Catalog under the course title. 

How Does it affect me?

Failure to meet prerequisites will prevent you from registering via Falcon Phone and Falcon Web Registration into courses with prerequisites.  Submit needed documentation  to give adequate time for processing of your request.
