EDT 132 - Digital Music in the Classroom
This course covers the use of digital communication in education by creating and using digital music and other audio in the classroom using audio editing software. Using digital music, students will learn to create, perform, and record original music for digital movies, podcasts, and slideshows; capture streaming audio; and to capture and assess oral readings. (2 units)

EDT 137 iMovie/Movie Maker in Education
This course covers the concepts and techniques for video editing using Apple’s iMovie and/or Microsoft Movie Maker in education. Using these free movie editing software packages, students will learn to bring lessons to life by creating video “reports” to demonstrate abstract concepts through narration, video, music, and pictures. Methods of integrating these software programs into new and existing lesson plans will be explored. (2 units)

EDT 138 Teaching with Clay Animation
This course covers the concepts and techniques for creating animation using clay characters to enhance storytelling, creative writing, and visualization of mathematical and scientific concepts. Building upon the theories of multiple intelligences in learning, clay animation enhances student learning through a variety of methods. (2 units)

EDT 150 Podcasting in Education
This course covers the concepts and techniques for creating web-based broadcasting, called podcasts, for educational purposes and making them available on the Internet. Podcasting is a way to post and distribute electronic media files online. Podcasting content, resources, hardware and software requirements, and procedures will be covered in addition to methods of integrating podcasts into educational course content. (2 units)
