The Pell grant is a federal grant.  The purpose of the Pell grant is to help the undergraduate pay for their education after high school. This program is designed to help students who have not earned their first bachelor's degree.  The amount of a Pell grant for 2008/2009 can range from $890 to $4,731 for the year.  The amount depends on the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) and the number of units enrolled in.

You must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for the Pell Grant.
