Scholarships

In order to apply for scholarships offered through the foundation, you will need to complete the online General Foundation Scholarship Application. Upon submission of your application, a thorough review by the Foundation will determine which scholarship(s) you may be eligible for.

General Scholarship Application (online application) -Available beginning August 1, 2013.

To be apply, you will need to do the following:

  1. Complete the General Foundation Scholarship Application..
  2. Provide the name and email address of at least two references(instructors preferred) who will provide electronic letters of recommendation.
  3. If applying for community service based scholarships, provide the name and email of a reference who will provide an electronic letter of recommendation based on your community service and involvement.
  4. Provide thorough, open, and honest responses to the personal statement prompts.
  5. Upload current unofficial Cerritos College transcripts.

The following scholarships have applications apart from the General Scholarship Application. To apply for any of the following scholarships, please compete the specific application below:

The Endeavor Award (online application)- Not currently accepting applications.

The Endeavor Award was established by the Cerritos College Literature Club to recognize outstanding literary works written by students at Cerritos College.

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 5 units at Cerritos College
  • Must have a minimum Cerritos College GPA of 3.0
  • Must submit an original poem, narrative, screenplay, essay or any other piece of previously unpublished work no more than 2500 words.
  • Submissions will be evaluated for originality, style, development, cultural insight, and, where relevant, correctness.

Annual Awards: (1) $150, (1) $100, and (1) $50

Automotive Technology Scholarship Application (PDF) - Not currently accepting applications

Includes the following scholarships:

  • $500 Jeannie M.T. Yang Scholarship
  • $500 Anthony J. Franklin Memorial Scholarship (Spring Semester only)
  • $500 Terry Hammond Memorial Scholarship (Ford Asset Program)
  • $500 SMCDA Automotive Technology Scholarship
  • $750 SMCDA Northwood 3rd Year Scholarship

iFalcon Scholarship (online application) - Not currently accepting applications.

To apply for the Focus, Advance, or Link Up iFalcon Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Focus Scholarship (for full time students):

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Completed 12 or more units at Cerritos College
  • Currently enrolled in 12 or more units at Cerritos College
  • Provide unofficial transcripts
  • Answer the question "How do you FALCON* to achieve your academic goals?"

Advance Scholarship (for part time students):

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Completed 20 or more units at Cerritos College
  • Currently enrolled in at least 6 units and no more than 11.5 units at Cerritos College
  • Provide unofficial transcripts
  • Answer the question "How do you FALCON* to achieve your academic goals?"

Link Up Scholarship Requirements:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Completed 20 or more units at Cerritos College
  • Currently enrolled in at least 6 units at Cerritos College
  • Actively engaged during the current academic year in an academic club, student government, or community outreach.

Edison Green Jobs Technology Scholarship Application (online application) -Not currently accepting applications.

  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units at Cerritos College
  • Must be enrolled in at least one Cerritos College class with a focus in "Green Technology", such as:
    • Architecture - LEED
    • Biology - Man and environment
    • Automotive Technology - Electric vehicle and alternative fuels
    • Manufacturing - Lean Manufacturing, Lean SIGMA
    • Film - Motion Picture Editing
  • Must have completed a minimum of 24 units
  • Must have a financial need

Osher Scholarship Application -Not currently accepting applications.

Next application period will be August 1 - September 20, 2013

  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units at Cerritos College
  • Must have completed a minimum of 24 degree applicable units
  • Must have received a CCC Board of Governor's Fee Waiver

Project Hope Scholarship Application (online application) - Not currently accepting applications.

All candidates for the Project HOPE Scholarship Program must attend a mandatory Project HOPE Scholarship Application Orientation to be able to apply for a 2013-2014 Project HOPE scholarship. To see the dates, times, and locations of the orientations, please download a copy of the January and February Project HOPE calendars by visiting the Project HOPE website (www.cerritos.edu/hope) and clicking on the "Calendar of Events" link in the "Department Links" column on the left side of the page. Applicants must only attend one of the scheduled orientations. Any applications submitted by candidates who did not attend an orientation will not be reviewed.

Requirements for the Project HOPE Transfer Scholarship:

  • Registered in at least 6 units at Cerritos College
  • Must be ready to transfer to a four-year university or enter into a professional health-related program by Fall 2013
  • Must provide proof of acceptance and full-time enrollment in a four-year college/university or health professional program to receive a scholarship

Award: Up to $3000

Requirements for the Project HOPE Promising Scholarship:

  • Registered in at least 12 units at Cerritos College
  • Must have completed 30 or more transferable units
  • Must have plans to transfer in the 2014-2015 academic year.

Award: $500
