Foundation Scholarships -- Leadership

Bellflower Noon Lions Club Scholarship (FALL)

Established by the Bellflower Noon Lions Club, this scholarship is awarded to Cerritos College students who lived, worked or attended school in Bellflower.

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following critiera:

  • Must have a minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Must have lived, worked or attended school in Bellflower
  • Must have community involvement or participation in clubs, student government or volunteer work

Annual Award two (2) $1,000; General Scholarship Application

Cerritos College Veterans Scholarship (SPRING)

Established to recognize the service of Veterans of the United States Military who are returning to Cerritos College.

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled in a minimum of 6 units
  • Completed a minimum of 12 units at Cerritos College
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Have community service and/or on campus club involvement
  • Veteran status with proof of DD214 (honorable discharge)

Annual Award $500; General Scholarship Application

Cheryl A. Epple Memorial Scholarship (FALL)

Established in memory of Cheryl A. Epple, former Cerritos College Board of Trustee.  This scholarship will be awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding community service andleadership involvement.

Annual Award two (2) $1,000;General Scholarship Application

iFalcon Scholarship (SPRING)

Established by the students of Cerritos College, this scholarship recognizes outstanding students who have excelled in their academic life, by implementing one or all of the habits ofmind incorporated in the iFalcon campaign. Two scholarships (one for full time students and one for part time students) will be offered and both are open to AB 540 students. 

Focus Scholarship (for full time students): To apply for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria: 

  •  Minimum GPA of 3.0
  •  Completed 12 or more units at Cerritos College
  •  Currently enrolled in 12 or more units at Cerritos College
  •  Provide unofficial transcripts
  •  Answer the question "How do you FALCON* to achieve your academic goals?"

Advance Scholarship (for part time students): To apply for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria: 

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Completed 20 or more units at Cerritos College
  • Currently enrolled in at least 6 units and no more than 11.5 units at Cerritos College
  • Provide unofficial transcripts
  • Answer the question "How do you FALCON* to achieve your academic goals?" 

iFalcon Link Up Scholarship: To apply for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Completed 20 or more units at Cerritos College
  • Currently enrolled in at least 6 units at Cerritos College
  • Actively engaged during the current academic year in an academic club, student government, or community outreach.

The Jorquera Family Scholarship (SPRING)

This scholarship was established in 2013 by former ASCC President Giovanii Jorquera and is awarded to an outstanding male latino Cerritos College student.

To be eligible applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Male
  • Latino/Hispanic ethnicity
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • 24 units completed at Cerritos College
  • Transfer bound
  • 1st generation college student preferred

Annual Award (1) $1000; General Scholarship Application

Norwalk Lions Club Scholarship (FALL/SPRING)

This scholarship was established in 2013 by the Norwalk Lions Club to recognize the achievement of an outstanding Cerritos College student. To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must live or have attended high school in the city of Norwalk
  • Must have community involvement or participation in clubs, student government or volunteer work

Annual Award (2) $500; General Scholarship Application

Dr. Sandra Salazar Veterans Scholarship (FALL)

This scholarship was established in 2013 by Cerritos College Trustee Dr. Sandra Salazar and is awarded to outstanding veterans who are returning to school after military service.

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Veteran status with proof of DD214 (Honorable Discharge)
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Preference to first semester students
  • Preference to 1st generation college students

Annual Award (2) $250; General Scholarship Application

Wayne Nunnery Facilities & Purchasing Leadership Scholarship (SPRING)

Originally established by the Cerritos College Facilities and Purchasing departments to recognize students in student government (ASCC), this scholarship was renamed in memory ofWayne Nunnery, a long time Cerritos College employee who passed away in 2008. This scholarship is awarded to students who show strong leadership skills and demonstrateinvolvement on campus.

Annual Award $1,500; Committee Selected
