International Student Rules to Maintain F-1 Status
1. I shall not drop below 12 units during the fall and spring terms.
2. I shall study hard and maintain a Grade Point Average of at least 2.0.
3. I shall not work on or off campus without approval from the international Student Center and/or the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) department.
4. I shall have a current passport, a valid I-20 that is not expired, and all immigration documents at all times.
5. I shall contact the International Student Center to update my file with any new address, phone number, e-mail address, change of major, or other changes.
6. I shall have International Student Medical Insurance for myself (and my dependents, if applicable) at all times.
7. I shall transfer properly: If I am admitted from another school, I will sign page 1 and 3 of my I-20 and return all pages of my I-20 to the International Student Center.
8. I shall come to the International Student Center before leaving the U.S.A. (especially if I want to re-enter the U.S.A.).
9. I shall contact the International Student Center to schedule an appointment with an International Student Counselor for information on transfer, educational plan, to add or drop a class, if I am having problems in class, etc.
10. I shall regularly check "MyCerritos" Student Center to make sure my class schedule is correct. Do not depend on your instructor to drop you from class and make sure the instructor and/or administration does not drop you. (It is the student's responsibility to drop themselves from each course and all fines for un-dropped courses will continue to remain on your finance records until paid in full.)
11.I shall get involved on campus with student organizations and activities (become a leader, meet fellow students, have some fun!). Getting involved and taking an active role on campus is great for getting into your choice of University and can be a positive addition to your resume.
