Library Services for Faculty
Instructional Services
Schedule Library Instruction Sessions (orientations) either online or by calling the Reference Desk at Ext. 2425 as far in advance as possible. These approximately one-hour lectures are taught by a Librarian and are tailored to assist your students in completing the assignments for your class. Instructors should schedule an orientation at least one week in advance.
Instructors may refer students to the one-unit basic information skills course Library 100: Introduction to Library Resources. Taught by the librarians, this one-unit course is open-entry and is transferrable to the UC and CSU.
Librarians are also available to assist you in developing assignments that integrate library resources and research into your curriculum.
Reference Assistance
Librarians are available Monday through Saturday to provide research assistance using an extensive collection of reference sources. They may be reached at Ext. 2425.
Bibliographies And Book Lists
With sufficient lead time, librarians will prepare bibliographies and other written guides for your courses. Ask to see samples at the reference desk or on the web.
