Research Begins @ the Library

Library Orientations are now being Scheduled!

Schedule yours now! | See currently scheduled Orientations!

The Cerritos College Librarians offer one-hour orientation sessions covering basic library and research skills. We also offer more customized orientations that focus on in-depth research techniques in all disciplines.

Whether your students have to write a report, a critical essay, or a research paper, the librarians will show them how and where to start. We will make sure they don’t get lost in the overwhelming sea of information.

Information competency—the ability to find, use, evaluate, and articulate information—is essential for success in college and in life. A Library orientation session will sharpen your students’ information competency skills.

They will learn about:

  • Organization of the Cerritos College Library
  • Finding Books Using the Online Book Catalog
  • Finding Articles Using Periodical Indexes
  • Internet Resources
  • Research Strategies and Techniques
  • Selection and Evaluation of Sources
  • Citation Formats

Call the Library Reference Desk or use the online Orientation Request form today to schedule your class for a one-hour session. You’ll be glad you did!

Please note: The instructor of record must attend the Orientation with their class.
