guide you through all of the stages of the writing process, including each of the following steps:·

discussing possible topics or approaches for your writing assignmento
brainstorming for ideas to write about that topic or ideao
helping you to find information or resources to develop that topico
assisting you in organizing the material you find into an outlineo
showing how to create a composition (draft) from those noteso
reviewing the composition you wrote to evaluate its effectivenesso
pointing out errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formato
directing you in documenting your research, using the appropriate style for your discipline (usually, MLA or APA)

link you to valuable writing-related resources on the Internet·
connect you with other campus resources (like the English Department, Library, and Learning Assistance Program) that can help you develop as a writer·
help you develop word processing and Internet research skills·
serve as a liaison (bridge) to your instructors so that you can better understand the writing assignments you get in your classes
Faculty members are also encouraged to contact the Center to arrange for any of the following:

classroom visits introducing students to the New Writing Resource Center·
on-site class visits to the Center, geared to your students’ special needs·
consultations and discussions about integrating writing more fully into your subject-matter curriculum or fine-tuning assignments and projects·
participation with colleagues inside and outside of your discipline about incorporating more creative and critical thinking activities into your teaching repertoire
