Course Goals and Objectives

The purpose of the Real Estate Department of Education is to provide the student with courses necessary to qualify for a Salesperson or Broker's License. It also provides training to assist students to advance in the field of Real Estate and related fields and to obtain information vital to their personal growth as well as preparing them to meet legal operation related to their acquisition and transfer of their own properties. 

Certificate Programs

The primary function of the Real Estate Department is not only preparation for Sales and Broker's Licenses but to use information received to further their training and complete requirements of an AA Degree and various certificates. 

The following certificates are offered:  

  • California Real Estate Certificate 24/25 Units 
  • Real Estate Certificate of Achievement 18/19 Units 
  • Real Estate Department Award 12/13 Units 
  • Class Completion Award for each 3 Unit course

Career Internship Program

This program resembles the apprenticeship or work experience program. Students are placed in Real Estate offices where they receive on the job training in a planned educational program. 

Students register for a course either BUSR 173 for 3 Units of college credit or BUSR 174 for 4 Units. They must attend a one unit coordinating class each week and attend their workstation for 10 hours per week for 3 Units, or 15 hours per week for 4 Units.
