MANDATORY NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION - THURSDAY, JULY 11, 8 am - 4 pm

All applicants for the 2019-2020 school year should block this date in case of admission.  Selections are being made and admitted students, as well as alternates, will be notified by mail by the end of the second week of June.

The Cerritos College Nursing Program accepts applications once a year, from January 1 - March 15th, for the following academic year.   Applications for the 2019 - 2020 academic year will be accepted beginning in January 2019.  The nursing program will be utilizing a Blended Admission Process using a combination of: 1) Multi-Criteria Admission Process  and 2) Random Selection (Lottery) beginning with the January 2019 application period.  All applicants will be given points according the Multi-Criteria Screening Tool (to be uploaded to the website in August).  The program will configure the points for all applicants and the first 50% of admission seats for the 2019-2020 academic year will be filled with the top point applicants.  The remaining applicants will be placed into a random selection process (lottery) and the next 50% of admission seats will be filled with the top students in the random selection.

The Multi-Criteria Admission Process   will take into consideration the following:

  1. Grade Point Average
  2. Previous Academic Degree
  3. Recency of Prerequisites
  4. TEAS Scores
  5. Relevant Healthcare Experience
  6. Volunteer Hours
  7. Life Experiences
  8. Veteran Status
  9. Second Languages

This information session is for the public / potential applicants who have questions and who are seeking further clarification regarding the multiselective criterion.  it will be lead by the Nursing Director. Limited seating is available.  Please show on time to guarantee a seat.
