Woodworking Program to Host Open House

WHAT: The Spring Open House of Cerritos College’s Woodworking Program, held Jan. 9, 10 and 12, will offer community members a chance to learn more about developing their skills in a rewarding hobby and profession. The Open House will feature
tours of the 24,000-square-foot facility, a chance to meet current instructors and students, information about spring course offerings, and help enrolling in spring courses. Classes are only $20 per unit for state residents.
Cerritos College Woodworking, one of the finest woodworking schools in Southern California, offers classes in furniture making, cabinetmaking, woodturning, and related topics. The 20 instructors work out of a spacious facility, where over 100 stationary and portable woodworking machines are available. The program emphasizes hands-on training and real-world experience, and all classes are project-focused. Over forty different classes cover topics including faceframe and frameless cabinet construction, architectural millwork, table and casegood construction, solid surface fabrication, hand tools and veneering.
