NORWALK, Calif. – March 5, 2008 – Cerritos College athletic students and a coach are being featured in the first episode of the new Discovery Channel series Human Body: Pushing the Limits. The series combine computer graphics and amazing real-world stories to reveal how human bodies perform when pushed to the max.
Entitled “Strength,” the first episode features then-Cerritos College football player Ryan Pettys and then-Cerritos College men's soccer player Marco Pulido. This 60-minute presentation showcases extraordinary tales of human strength told with see-through “anatomy in motion.” The episode was mostly filmed here at Cerritos College in early 2007 highlighting interviews of Pettys, Pulido –both have since transferred to a four-year university– and head football coach Frank Mazzotta.
Premiered March 2, the series including three more episodes “Sight,” “Brainpower” and “Sensation” will be repeated throughout the month of March.
Airtimes for the “Strength” episode:
Monday, March 10 9:00 p.m.
Tuesday, March 11 1:00 a.m.
Saturday, March 15 3:00 p.m.
