NORWALK, Calif. - September 5, 2008 - The Cerritos College Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Marilyn Brock to serve as the Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs for Cerritos College. She will begin her assignment at the college on Wednesday, October 1. Dr. Brock takes over for Bill Farmer who is currently serving as the Acting President/Superintendent for the College. Dr. Brock will serve until Farmer returns to his original position after an Interim President is selected.
Dr. Brock served as Dean of Health Occupations at the college from 1994 to 1997. Following her tenure at Cerritos, she served as Vice President of Academic Affairs at Long Beach City College (LBCC). After that she became President of Mendocino College in Ukiah, California, and served for three years before retiring in 2004. Since retirement she has taken on several interim vice presidencies including assignments with Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, Rio Hondo College and currently at LBCC.
She received a Doctorate in Institutional Management from Pepperdine University, graduating with Honors, and a BA and MA from California State University, Long Beach. Dr. Brock is a native of Vancouver, Canada.
