This year’s title sponsor, Bovis Lend Lease, was joined by numerous corporations and local businesses in helping the Foundation achieve its goal.

"Having played in several tournaments this year, the Cerritos event far surpasses all others in the organization, venue and overall fun experience,” said Jerry Jones, program director of Bovis Lend Lease.

The Helicopter Ball Drop Winners Bert Paul took home $3,000 cash prize. There were several competitions as part of the tournament. Most notable, Moore Flooring took home the prize for the “Business Competition.”

Photo of Steve Richardson and Desiree Miera Foundation Executive Director Steve Richardson presented Cerritos College student Desiree Miera the 2008 Nancy Kelly Academic Scholarship, awarded each year to an outstanding female athlete in softball who displays high academic achievement. Miera, of Downey, a child development major plans to transfer to California State University, Long Beach, and hopes to become an elementary school teacher.

The 25^th Annual Cerritos College Foundation Golf Classic is scheduled for August 2, 2010 at Friendly Hills Country Club.
