Cerritos College Theatre Department's production of Reefer Madness, the musical an award-winner

NORWALK, Calif. - September 15, 2011 - Cerritos College is proud to announce that renowned theatrical magazine, Stage Scene LA, has placed several of the Cerritos College theatre faculty and students as award winning (Best of's) in its 2010-2011 awards. In the Stage Scene LA's fourth annual "Best of" lists for the theatre scene in Los Angeles Cerritos College's production of Reefer Madness, the musical is mentioned several times.
In this year's awards, Cerritos College Theatre Department adjunct faculty member, Patrick Pearson was named the "Director of the Year" for his work on his recent production of Reefer Madness, the musical (Spring 2011). Pearson first directed the Cerritos College Fall 2007 production of Anna in the Tropics. He returned to direct Reefer Madness, the musical this fall.
Fellow Theatre Department adjunct faculty and current choreographer for Return to the Forbidden Planet, Kelly Todd, was named "Choreographer of the Year" in part for her work on Reefer Madness, the musical.
The Theatre Department is also proud to share that student Chris Hayhurst won "Best Performance by a Lead Actor/Musical" for his role as the Narrator in Reefer Madness, the musical.
