The Cerritos College Foundation awards new Granada Family Scholarship

Scholarship assists an outstanding student of Filipino descent

Evelyn Granada-Enrique, Lorena Tan and Roy Granada (l-r)NORWALK, Calif. - December 8, 2011 - The Cerritos College Foundation presented the newly established $500 Granada Family Scholarship to student Lorena Tan on Thursday, November 17.

The scholarship was established by siblings Evelyn Granada-Enriquez, Erlinda Granada-Sabah, Manuel Granada, and Roy Granada to provide financial support to a Cerritos College student of Filipino ethnicity.

Lorena Tan, of Anaheim, began attending Cerritos College in the spring of 2009 and is pursuing her degree in culinary arts. Tan has always had a passion for cooking and loves the quality time it creates within her family. Her son, who is currently living with her sister in the Philippines while she finishes school, is her motivation to always try her hardest to make a better life for her son and herself.
