NORWALK, Calif. – July 7, 2017 – Cerritos College had its accreditation status fully reaffirmed by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC). The Commission accredits community colleges throughout California. After the College’s midterm report and review, the ACCJC found the College to be in full compliance and its accreditation status was reaffirmed with no recommendations.
Cerritos College is reviewed every six years, including a mid-year report every three years. Accreditation is an external review process that ensures that education provided by an institution of higher education meets acceptable levels of quality determined by the Commission. The College’s next self-evaluation is scheduled for spring 2020.
“I would like to thank our faculty, staff, and administration for their hard work and dedication to our College,” said Dr. Jose Fierro, president/superintendent, Cerritos College. “As we gear up for the spring 2020 report, it is important to maintain our focus on student learning and student achievement in order to demonstrate our commitment to continuous improvement.”
