Answer: If you cannot see a course site it is usually due to the following.
1. You are not officially in the class and are either on the wait list or not enrolled in the class. 2. Your instructor has not published the course site. In cases like this you will need to contact your instructor for further information.
Description: When I try to access the discussion board I get the following error

Answer: The error is related to hitting the small up arrow next to the title of the Panel. Refrain from hitting the arrow and instead use the breadcrumb list below it. For instance to return to the discussion board's main page click the link titled Discussion List
Description: I do not see the discussion board posts.
Answer: If you are using a macintosh you may experience problems with the
discussion board not displaying properly. To correct this problem
Control + Click on the discussion board link and choose Open Link in
New Window.
Description: I am not enrolled in the class but I would like to view the course prerequisites and text book.

You may use the Site Search to find courses and view any publicly available documents, including the syllabus.
Select Site Search from the Tools Menu. Select the Site Type Choose the Academic Term Enter the Course Title (such as EdT) And click the Search for Sites button.
TalonNet will then display the search results, click the site title to view any publicly available documents.
Answer: In order to have an account in TalonNet you must be, or have previously been, enrolled in at least one course at Cerritos College. To login enter your 7 digit student number, add a leading zero if you have a 6 digit number, and your date of birth (MMDDYY). If you continue having problems please use the contact form.
You may only join sites that have been specified as joinable by the site owner.
You may join a site by logging in and choosing the Membership tool from the menu to the left. Next click the Joinable Sites link. You will then see a list of all of the sites in TalonNet that are available to join. Scroll down until you find the course or project site you wish to join and click the Join link. Next you will see a confirmation that you are now a participant in the site. The site will also appear as a new link on the navigation bar along the top of the page.
Description: I submitted an assignment that is due tonight and I need to make some changes. The status is showing submitted and I am not able to edit and save the changes.

Many links will open a popup or new window, if that is the case and you are running a third party popup blocker you will need to either disable it or check the programs documentation on how to temporarily disable it (many times it is holding the shift key down while clicking the link).
If you are running Windows XP with Service Pack 2, Internet Explorer comes with a built in popup blocker.
When visiting a website if you notice the information bar appear at the top of your browser window. Internet Explorer is letting you know that it has blocked a popup.
Simply click the Information bar and select Temporarily Allow Popups.
Now your Information bar should notify you that popups are being temporarily allowed and you may click on the link that will launch the new window or popup.
Answer: If you are copying and pasting from Microsoft Word into a text area in TalonNet use the Paste from Word button on the toolbar and paste your copied text into the window that opens, it will remove any Word specific formatting code that may cause problems.
Description: How can I set Internet Explorer to accept cookies?

Verify your Internet Explorer settings by navigating to Tools > Internet Options. Under the Security tab confirm that the slider is set to Medium or Medium-low. Under the Privacy tab confirm that the slider is set to Accept All Cookies.
Description: When accessing TalonNet my login information is being saved. This could potentially allow the next user of this computer to login as me.
Answer: To clear out saved login information:
·In Firefox 2.0 or greater select Tools then choose “Clear Private Data”
·In Internet Explorer 6 select Tools > Internet Options then select the Delete Cookies, Delete Files, and Clear History buttons.
·In Internet Explorer7 from the command bar, choose Tools and then Delete Browsing History.... then click on the Delete files... button, which should be the first button you see. Click on Yes to confirm
