CMS Training

CMS Training:

Training is available for employees to learn the CMS. They will learn their responsibilities as web authors including web standards and practices followed by the college. All training takes place in the Innovation Center (LC-121).  Trainees are encouraged to look over the web handbook prior to and after attending a training session. Each session is scheduled for one hour and may last up to 1.5 hours or longer. Subsequent appointments may be necessary and employees are encouraged to make additional appointments if needed.

Training topics include:

  • General CMS overview including how to log into the CMS, opening a web site for editing, page properties and browsing the page.
  • How to use the WSYIWIG editor to modify page content, how to create different types of hyperlinks (internal, external, file) and insert images.
  • How to use the accessibility report tool to check pages for web accessibility, how to identify and repair common accessibility errors and submit work for approval.

If you would like to be trained as a web author to maintain pages, need specialized assistance with your department web pages, need a new web site created or need other web site user support, please fill out a web support form online at or call extension 2966 for an appointment.

The Cerritos College mission is to serve the community by building futures through learning.
