WMT 244 Chest of Drawers      4.0 Units
Class hours: 2.5 lecture/5.5 lab
Prerequisite: WMT 102 and WMT 103 or equivalent with grades of Credit or “C” or higher.
Corequisite: None.
Recommendation: WMT 201 or equivalent with a grade of Credit or “C” or higher.

This advanced course will reinforce skills learned in previous classes and challenge the student to demonstrate the ability to plan, design, fabricate and finish a chest of drawers. The course will allow the student more indepth experience in solid-wood-panel side and frame-and-panel methods of construction. The focus will be on the carcass as well as on drawer construction. Topics include history, planning, design, fabrication and finishing as they pertain to building a chest of drawers. The course may be taken a maximum of 2 times.
