CSAW Presents Mike Jackofsky
Mike Jackofsky is a professional woodturner from Harmony Grove, California. Mike specializes in hollow forms, but he also turns thin, natural-edge, open bowls, and off-balance, asymmetrical pieces, including hollow forms with wings and sculptural turnings. Most of his pieces are made from unique burls.  His work is on display at the Sam Maloof Historical Residence Museum and the Mingei International Museum. Please join us for an inspirational demonstration of the art and craft of woodturning.

CSAW Presents Ashley Eriksmoen
Ashley Eriksmoen studied fine woodworking with James Krenov at the College of the Redwoods before earning her M.F.A in Furniture Design at the Rhode Island School of Design. Ashley Eriksmoen now exhibits nationally, designs and builds on commission, and teaches design/woodworking.

CSAW Meeting featuring Bob Stevenson
Bob Stevenson’s in-depth presentation will focus on his building of the Federal Style Serpentine-Front Secretary Bookcase as featured on the back cover of the April 2006 issue of Fine Woodworking Magazine. Bob will concentrate on the techniques employed in the construction of this wonderful piece such as hammer veneering and the traditional “brick” lay-up of the serpentine front. Bob Stevenson’s work has been published in Woodworker West Magazine, Woodwork Magazine, Woodworker’s Journal, Woodshop News, and Fine Woodworking Magazine.

Bob is the Coordinator for the largest woodworking exhibition in the country, Design in Wood, co-sponsored by the San Diego Fine Woodworkers Association and the San Diego County Fair.  Bob is an active member of the San Diego Fine Woodworkers Association, tool collecting groups such as PAST, EAIA, Mid-West Tool Collectors, and is a member and on the Advisory Board of the Society of American Period Furniture Makers (SAPFM).

Bob owns and operates Stevenson Classic Woodworking in Chula Vista, California, where he makes custom antique reproduction furniture.

CSAW Presents Patrick Edwards
Patrick Edwards has worked as a professional furniture maker, restorer and conservator for 35 years.  He began restoring and conserving pre-industrial furniture while still an undergraduate majoring in physics and history.  After graduating from UC San Diego, he did postgraduate work in decorative arts at Winterthur, Dela ware, and the University of Massachusetts.  Upon completing his studies at the prestigious Ecole Boulle in Paris, he became certified by that institution to teach marquetry.

Lecture:  Patrick will be sharing slides of his work and the American School of French Marquetry.  

Workshop, 10am - 2pm.  Patrick will discuss and demonstrate the chevalet, the cutting-horse used to cut the veneer.  Methods of marquetry and hammer veneering will also be demonstrated and discussed.  Space is limited, $50 admission.

Susan Working has been a professional furniture maker for twenty-five years.  She is currently the director of the Furniture Design and Woodworking Program at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Colorado.  Ms. Working will share slides of her work, the Arts Center, its diverse arts program and the scholarship opportunities of the 2006 Wood Program.  Come learn about the rewarding summer and winter residency Art Programs at Anderson Ranch in Colorado.
