Job Opportunities | Post Your Job Opportunity

Our goal at the Cerritos College Department of Woodworking Manufacturing Technologies is to provide students with a high quality woodworking education program that leads to job opportunities in the wood industry. We offer a strong program in both vocational cabinetmaking and fine furniture making. Certificates and degrees are available in Cabinetmaking, Furniture Making, and Comprehensive Woodworking.

In our two year Cabinetmaking Program, students build both frameless (32mm system) and face frame cabinetry from start to finish. They learn how to operate Cabinet Vision Solid software and industrial CNC equipment. They are trained in assembly, finishing, and installation. In addition to building cabinetry with the use of current CNC technology, graduates are skilled in traditional manufacturing methods as well.  Elective courses in this program include Solid Surface Fabrication, Mantels and Wall Systems, and Passage Doors.

Our Furniture Making Program starts with basic woodworking skills and advances to basic casework, chair, and table classes. Students then move on to advanced level classes in casegoods, tables, and an assortment of chairs. Included in the program are speciality courses that enhance student experience in woodworking.  Examples of these courses include wood veneering, turning, finishing, and carving. Graduates of this program are trained with fine woodworking skills and have been exposed to the history of various types of woodworking.

The Comprehensive Woodworking Program provides a combination of cabinetmaking and fine furniture making training. The program is designed to prepare students interested in becoming woodworking teachers.

Graduates of our program are well trained and ready to begin their careers in the industry. On this site, we connect our graduates and current students with job opportunities in the local area.  If you are an employer with a job opening, please send us information about the position by clicking on the "Post Your Job Opportunity" link above.

If you are a graduate or current student looking for a job in the woodworking industry, please fill free to browse through our job opportunities online or on the job board in the woodworking shop.
