PART-TIME TEACHING POSITION

 

Salary: 28-60.50 per hour. Negotiable depending on experience

Start Date: Fall semester—September!

Position hours/location: Part-time assignment, Estancia High School, Costa Mesa, M-F, two class periods

Qualifications: Eligible for a Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Teaching Credential by having 5 years of related work experience in the construction field or 3 years related work experience and 48 semester hours of related post-secondary vocational training.

Job Description: Train high school students in theory an skills needed for carpentry and residential construction. Instruction and lab experience will include safety, use of tools, blue print reading basic plumbing, electrical, masonry, glass, title, flooring, drywall, carpentry, and roofing repairs.

Responsibilities: Provide instruction for students interested in working in the construction technology field. Assist in curriculum development and or revision. Develop lesson plans. Maintain student records, grades, and attendance. Utilize proper classroom management to provide a positive learning environment. Participate in recruitment activities, advisory committee meetings, and career fair activities.
