Anthony teaches WMT101 Introduction to Woodworking, a position he has approached with great energy and enthusiasm since he began teaching at Cerritos in 2001.  Anthony takes great pride and pleasure in guiding his students, the novice and the experienced alike, through the rigorous safety and procedural requirements, which not only form the foundation for a successful and safe woodworking career at Cerritos College and at home, but will prepare the interested student for a position in the professional woodworking industry.  Anthony’s commitment to the Cerritos College woodworking program stems from his real life experience applying the same techniques he teaches to private and institutional cabinetmaking and installation situations.

As a strong advocate of the community college’s holistic promotion of both vocational and academic disciplines; Anthony believes that the successful application of critical thinking skills used to solve the practical problems posed in the woodworking curriculum will encourage the student to use those same skills for academic success as well.

Anthony earned his A.A. from Cerritos College, and his B.A. from California State University at Long Beach.  He is currently continuing his graduate studies at California State University Long Beach.

Anthony was honored with the Most Outstanding Faculty Award at Cerritos College in 2003 – 2004 for his teaching in the woodworking program.

Anthony is also a musician, playing saxophone in several critically acclaimed bands.  He also surfs whenever he gets a chance.
