Peter earned a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy with a minor in English at St. John Seminary College. He also studied Environmental Design at Otis College of Art and Design for over two years. In 1999, Krause became a Cerritos College student taking furniture and cabinetry courses. 

Krause has worked in the cabinet industry for five years and currently owns his own cabinetmaking business.  Along with his part-time teaching assignments at Cerritos College he also teaches part-time at a local regional occupational center. Peter has taught WMT Introduction to Woodworking, WMT 130 Furniture Design, and WMT 151 Introduction to Face Frame Cabinetmaking at Cerritos College.
